Hello future followers!
Right now I have exactly 0 followers and I’m not really sure if that will change anytime soon. I’m very much new to the world of blogging. Did you know that you have to actually create a website to do a blog? Yeah… not my strong suit. But since I have not yet told anyone that I’m attempting this, I have no one to help me so I’m muddling through the best that I can.
I’m told that I need a target audience and subject. While I understand the importance of having that, I’m not entirely sure who my audience will end up being because there’s a lot of things I want to write about! Honestly, I think I’d be ok if I am my only audience. Just getting things out on paper (digital paper?) is cathartic for me. I have so many things in my head sometimes, I have to get them out somehow before my brain explodes. Usually that’s me having an imaginary conversation with myself in the car or while I’m picking up around the house and then my kids learn some choice words and/or interrupt me because one of them has gotten his head stuck in a chair or something.
Btw I have kids. If you couldn’t guess by the title “Keeper of the Child Things.” (Side note: “Where the Child Things Are” was taken which I’m bummed about but I also need to figure out who owns that website because I think we’re probably soul mates and all of our Child Things can join together to take over the world in chaos.)
So I guess that will probably be most of my posts about life as a SAHM (stay at home mom). So profound, I know. I have nothing new to offer as far as parenting advice because literally every kind of parenting style has already been invented but maybe I can offer a slightly different perspective, or at least some humorous stories as I tell my kid for the 213087th time “Remember when I told you not to do that? Yeah, maybe you should have listened to me.” Kids are fun. And will simultaneously suck the life out of you while breaking your heart because you love them so much but you also kind of want to smother them with a pillow.
So this will probably be partially talking about my kids, posting fun activities we come up with on my Mary Poppins days, and complaining on my Hulk days. But since I am more than just a “Mom” there will be other things as well. Health articles and suggestions, probably some recipes, reflections on life, insights into current events, I may even be brave enough to talk about politics, who knows? I’m not 100% sure what’s going to happen here but I hope you’ll stick it out with me. For now I’m going to continue to try to figure out how to get the background to actually look like the theme said it was going to look. *insert confused emoji*
